Two countries in a dish. Italy–South Africa: it’s not a game that is played on a football field, but in the kitchen!
The question you might ask is: do we need another cook book? The answer is YES! Especially when the content is so valid, and so comprehensive – it actually offers something more than just recipes. The book follows a multicultural, scientific and, last but not least, environmental approach to food.
The real stars of the book are the 70 Italian recipes with a local twist and a focus on people’s health and wellbeing.
The recipes are arranged according to the different courses: from starters to desserts, going through the first and second courses, to form a complete Italian meal.
Each recipe is presented with its list of ingredients and preparation method, enriched by a useful nutritional and dietary information table, and illustrated with beautiful and mouthwatering images.
Every now and then Cecilia dispenses some of her invaluable tips to make the dishes even more appetising.
Cecilia di Cecco owns and runs the L’Aperitivo Venue in Umhlanga Ridge, KZN.
