“Just as the spider emits the thread of the web out of itself and then withdraws it, likewise, the mind projects the world out of itself and then withdraws it back into itself”. – Ramana Maharsi

Louise Punt-Fouché’s Webs of Enchantment is a series of images and wordwebs, that “seem to celebrate an intimate bond between women and the earth as the realm of our common origin, which has to be revered and ritually celebrated – as her art does – lest we forget to affirm and reaffirm our need for participation in the collective cycle of birth, life and death.

Appropriately Louise’s work is redolent with memories of Jungian archetypes and Tolkienesque imaginings of middle-earthean figurations.” – Professor Bert Olivier, Department of Philosophy Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.

Louisa Punt-Fouche was born in South Africa and is a fully accomplished artist, yoga teacher and psychologist. Resident in a small village in the Eastern Cape, since 1984, she has had numerous individual and group art exhibitions, has conducted several mandala-drawing workshops, initiated research projects focused on community healing and has had  the privilege of sharing many people’s interior spaces as a psychotherapist. She has a D. Phil in Psychology.
